Just like the movies…
…not!
Let me get one thing out of the way: Alien is one of the best films of all time and if you disagree…you are wrong (jk).
You’d assume that a game based on Alien will be a chilling action adventure.
Well, you’re in for a surprise.
It’s basically Pac-Man.
A reskinned Pac-Man.
You are Ripley and you walk around a maze, eating pills destroying eggs and avoiding ghosts aliens.
You can find a power-up and become the hunter or use a flamethrower a few times.
Sadly, it wouldn’t work for me at all.
Once you’ve cleared a level you can try your hands on a minigame reminiscent of Frogger or Freeway.
Cross a dark room avoiding enemies left and right and reach the other side.
In eight freaking seconds. Good luck!

Alien is pretty atmospheric with its dark color scheme and fast-paced gameplay, but I tell you to turn down the volume (annoying, constant sound effects) and put on some creepy Jerry Goldsmith score.
Play at night and you’re in for a spooky experience.
It’s worth a try, but I can’t shake the feeling that they did a lazy job.
If I had to decide between original Pac-Man for the Atari 2600 and this one tho, I’d pick Alien in a heartbeat.

Glad it’s not just me who can’t pick up a weapon and go on the offensive. This game is quite addictive but in the style of level 1, pacman is more enjoyable

Pretty much.
Altough, it’s a nice collectible for movie fans.
